Luna Park passes through Italy and bring us some shots of the annual Fame Festival where she had a near mystical experience seeing this collaboration between BLU and David Ellis develop. The artists worked like crazy on this animation for a full week against mosquitoes, rain, and bored assistants.
Here's a still from the animation that you can see by clicking on any image after the jump

J O'Shea from Supertouch snapped some pics at the opening of “AMERICAN REALITIES” at New Image Art in West Hollywood. The Show brings together Barry McGee, Clare Rojas, & Andrew Jeffrey Wright, some of my favourite street artists working today.

If you're in London you have a few more days to check out one of the best shows you will see this year. From the press release:
"Faile’s work takes the visual vocabulary of popular culture, urban decay and consumer excess, and reworks them into new, exciting and sometimes troubling narratives for the viewer. Layers of posters torn away from walls or comic book-inspired remixes, Faile’s instantly recognizable practice refers to a visual culture that is sometimes disposable, yet demands serious attention.
Lost in Glimmering Shadows features a new series of paintings and sculptures which explore an ambivalent attitude to the hypermodern culture of today’s USA. As well as incorporating images and texts from the chaos of the modern urban landscape, the works use imagery, stories and patterns from Native American Indian culture. A metaphor of sorts emerges in this juxtaposition; the expanse of contemporary commercialism at the expense of society's connection with nature and spirit."

Check out some artworks from the recently finished Out of Sth exhibition that saw 20 of the leading European and Polish urban artists congregate on Wrocław for some major bombing subsidized by the Polish minister of culture and national heritage. Below is a little taste from Wrocław's own visual genius + FRM-kid +

There are very few urban artists who have lived through the early years of what we call street cuture today and are still active. Mike Giant has see all these movements from Punk Rock to Hip-Hop, from Graffiti to BMX and incorporates those influences into his drawings, graffiti pieces and tattoos.
Mike's latest solo show just opened at White Walls in San Francisco.

It will be interesting to see how the current economic crisis affects streetwear sales.

Meanwhile, the art market is resilient as people once again realise that art is a better investment and also much more enjoyable than stocks or gold for that matter.

Joe Budden, one of the most underrated rappers of all time is coming back with Halfway House, the prequel to his forthcoming album Padded Room. As you can see from the cover artwork, Joe's got some serious stories to tell.
