Meanwhile, the art market is resilient as people once again realise that art is a better investment and also much more enjoyable than stocks or gold for that matter.
As Damien Hirst's massive over £70 million worth of sales on Black Monday has shown, the art world operates in a parallel universe. Hirst could not have chosen a better day for his auction of Beautiful Inside My Head Forever at Sotheby's as it added additional drama to an already dramatic sale.
Meanwhile, just like shit, great art will continue to rise to the top as can be seen in the amazing new body of work by London artist D*FACE on show at The Black Rat Press gallery.
