So, it has finally happened and after yeaaars of university I got my master degree in architecture (scoring 110 / 110, ops ) Not so sure if I need it but at least when I'm old I will have nothing to regret. And what's more important, I'm back in the game with some new exciting things/projects/stuff/assingments going on. Fiiiire baby.

And just to start I will be putting (dropping) some 00's rap hits this Thursday (after tomorrow) at Brutto Posse* in PUB AGHARTI (Via Vigevano 1, Milano) from 22 till 02. Strictly 128kbps.

Boom! That's Summer issue of PIG and it's THE HOTNESS. It has been in news stands for a while now, but only yesterday has finally hit internet so now the whole world can see who has the strongest photo team around. Hahaha! No, without kidding I'm super proud of this one and happy to have managed to gather so many talented people one more time.
(To cut the long story short) This issue's cover is shot by Todd Jordan (great story inside!) and it's Colin Leaman who took care of the second fashion editorial. We also have Emanuele Fonatensi (of La Revolution!), Christopher Schreck,  Sean Micheale Beolchini (shooting Walter Pfeiffer!) and yours truly (hahaha!) taking pictures of Marcelo Burlon and Africa Hitech
What is more inside you can  find swimwear special shot by girls only and this one includes  Roberta Ridolfi, Ana Kras, Marija Stranic, Alba Yruella, Jody Rogac, Jennilee Marigomen, Maya Villiger, Yara de Nicola and Wai Lin Tse (Man, I have shivers!)
Mark Peckmezian is our photographer of the month and Tankboys (who are my  favorite graphic design studio) took care fo Stree Files during Bienalle in Venice.

Last month in Florence one of my favorite brands around - Band of Outsiders  presented their spring/summer 2012 collection and I was asked by them to document the whole day of preparations for that. As you might now BofO is never just doing a regular fashion show on the catwalk , it's more like a presentation or, this time, like a musical, so you can imagine how hectic it was. There were about 40 dancers, 30 models, massive make up artists crew, stylists, assitants... involved and working their asses off (the list could continue for soooo long, finishing up with Scott Sternberg - designer and founder of the brand, who was keeping everytihng under controll) . I was there from models' arrival till the cocktail party after the show and saw everything from fitting, styling, dancing rehearsals, models rehearsals, doing hair, putting make up, dressing, till finally doing the show with all the little steps in between. It was damn tiring but really a nice job to do.

PS. I also did some portraits of Mr. Sternberg that should  be published very soon somewhere online.

This is is my man Emanuele who is an artist. After being selected by Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa as one of the young artists to watch and showing his works at BYOB during Bienalle di Venezia he teamed up with another friend Alberto Guerrini for his first official publication. Alberto has a very small publishing joint called Coffine Books which is part of the bigger project-shop that he runs together with his girl Nicoletta and that is called Coffe-N-Television  (don't miss it if you're in Bergamo!) Anyway, the publication is called 'Victoria' and is a set of 8 postcards and 2 posters all done during Emanuele's cruise on Mediterranean Sea. The project was presented previously at Modern Safari but the physical publication launched last week in Bergamo and of course I couldn't miss it and not get my copy (one of 100) of the set.

PS. Sounds during the launch event were brought by Lorenzo Senni of presto records

So it happened- first  public exhibition with my photos opened last Monday in Milan and I admit it was pretty satisfying (one-meter high photo prints  are always a breath-taking experience for me, especially if these are mine ;)
I need to thank all for that:  big up to the Nike Stadium Milano crew for making it happen, to Fabio for great photos, to Gianluca for dropping all these rap joints and to everybody (you were a lot!) else for having popped by + to the others  that didn't make it (I know you couldn't) Yo!

PS. And to Nastro Azzuro for the beer supply, hahahahahah.

Last Saturday Milan 'experienced' first PXA Basketball Tournament and IT WAS AMAZING. I was sitting in Parco Sempione, where the whole thing was taking place, just chilling, knocking my head to good beats, sipping beer, watching the filed full of people playing on one side and dancing/whatever on the other and was thinking 'This is the nicest day of my 2011.' Then this joint kicked off and everybody took off in the air. Pure madness started and I even thought for a second 'I could die happy right now.' Till the final (congrats to Pigalle team!) nobody could stop smiling. It was all unbelievable. And then? The afterparty lasted till 5 in the morning (I suppose) and was pretty ill, but please don't ask more. You know how it works with the afterparties ;)
I was trying to take some pictures but was to excited (during the day) and drunk (during the night) to concentrate on my camera. There are some pro pictures on Kuba's blog, some others on O!five.tv and please do watach viedos on Marcelo's youtube channel to get the atmosphere better. I'm still waiting for official footage.

PS. Loads of love to Slam Jam, Nike Stadium Milano and Pigalle crews for making it possible and bringing all these good vibes to town, big up to old and new friends, it was REALLY about 'love, basketball and pushing Europe connexion'

If you had ever been to Milan you should know what/who CTO is.  Anyway, they've just pulled togheter their second zine, called 'Spider mentality', and there are some of my photos in it. To be precise, one is even on the cover (ops!) That's what's up! Thanks for having invited me to this project.

We met with Pablo Limon couple years ago here in Milan and back then he was probably the wildest one to party with. Actually he still is, but as he moved to London, there are not so many chances to catch up.  Anyway,  it seems that he works as hard as he used to party. Pablo is designing furniture now and I think he is kind of good. I mean, I do know nothing about design but I could defo see some of his stuff  and my place. He passed by Milan last month for Design Week to showcase his small line (at WOK Store) and asked me to shoot the pieces he brought. How could I say no?

PS. What is more the first part of this 'Tale' was shot by Paul Herbst - one of my favorite photographers around, so apart from pleasure of working with Pablo it was an honor to 'continue' Paul's work.

Wooooah, I've always wanted to do it and here it is: my first unmixtape - over 50 minutes of background music, that you can work, eat, sleep to... or do whatever else you want.
I have never been (and probably I will never be) able to mix music for real, but I just like the idea of putting together stuff that I listen to, even if it is only fade out / fade in 'mix'  between two tracks. I mean, I have been trying to make it more 'pro' but the results are ridiculous, rather then advanced. What is more as soon as I exported the mix all the tracks disappeared and I couldn't fix anything after the first listing (call it 'demo', hahahahah). Whatever.

If I got it right it was kind of tribute to Lavorama LP by Ortega Cartel by some of people involved in this project, live at Stara Szwalnia (btw. nice new place in my Lodz) with Spinache, Reno, Proceente, Mielzky, dj Cooki Monster, Lilu and Jerem on stage. Good vibes just like back in the days*. Call me old, whatever.

*Spinache with the rest of Thincadelic and Snuz, was one of the first hip-hop concerts I went to. It was arund 2001/2, they played at club Madero and then this was the joint.

Couple of weeks ago I had pleasure to meet Mr. Aloe Blacc before his concert in Milan and to take him some pictures, while Enrico of Conemporary Standard asked him some questions. The result might be seen here (english version). The concert afterwards was fire!

There is an interview with me and my sister in the new issue of Purpose web magazine. It's all studying/working abroad oriented and in Polish only.  There is also a small gallery with some of my works for PIG including couple of never published photos. Check it.

I'm flipping through new PIG and I'm happy; happy and proud to have gathered all these talented photographers in one issue. Just looking at the cover makes me smile. It's shot in Barcelona by Rafa Castells, who without any doubt is my favorite young photographer and I am sure he will become huuuge (consider that this is his first fashion story ever!) Couple of pages before there are photos taken by his girlfriend  Alba Yruela, who pictured filmmakers collective Canada and who is not any less talented. The other fashion story is made in Canada by Jennilee Marigomen who has been such e reference for me and who teamed up for it with Redia Soltis - her partner from zero1magazine (one of the most relevant pages on photography/art/fashion right now) What is more you can find contributions of Californian Patrick Romero (shooting Eddie Cruz of UNDFTD) , Andrew Laumann (shooting musician Panda Bear in Baltimore), Paul Herbst teamed in London with his assistant Ulijona Odisarija  (shooting songwriter James Blake) and then... there is my small contribution too, making me even more excited  to be among all these names in bold.
This is on of these moments when you realize that this hard work was worth it.

So... I was 'doing' Milan Fashion Week for the first time in my life this year. Together with Luca and Eva, we were asked by Vicky Trombetta of 2DM to prepare a small  MFW report for their blog. The aim was to do something more raw, fresher, nothing like Sartorialist or whatever other blog, something not about fashion or clothes but more about people, places and craziness of this week. We started working...  In the meantime we were lucky enough to get linked with crew of D Magazine (probably the biggest and most popular women's mag in Italy) an like this we were able to follow their busy schedule.  After just one day together I seriously doubt that anyone could make it to all the shows / presentations / parties / cocktails / events during all four fashion weeks. This shit is hectic!
Anyway, you can watch small video-edit of my work on D.repubblica.it (huuuuge!) More pictures on their way...somewhere.

PIG 90 is out and as always it includes loads of great stuff and nice pictures + my new fashion shoot styled by Silvia Bergomi (super collabo :). It cost me a lot of preparation, time and effort but it was totatlly worth it. Check everything after the jump or download the whole issue here

Wow! That's me in the upcoming Ari Marcopoulos' book to be released on Rizzoli on April 5th. It was taken at one Thursday night last year in Milan, when I happened to find myself in between bouncers and graffiti writers throwing their markers in the air (these used to be best nights in Milan) Anyway, the book is about 1200 photos fat and you can (should) pre-order it here. I have already done it.

That's the pic I twitted last night from the crazies party I've been to in last two years in Milan. Newcommers are in town, starting their thing and doing it well. Can't be happier to have been there and dance as if nobody was looking. Anyway, I got blackberried some time ago and started twittng for real, which is fun so pass by. I'm also taking part of a collective diary of Friends Of Unotre, posting bullshit which is even more senseless (maybe not?) so take a look. More html stuff coming soon.

I'm lucky enough to have put my ears on Jamie xx remix album of latest Gil-Scott Heron's album and it is already my first record of the year. Hahaha, I know it's only January, but for real. I like the idea of putting together two so different generations, two of my kind of idols. What is more they are just perfect for each other. Just essence, nothing unnecessary.  It will be a mile-stone in history, or at least I hope so. So I'm listing this record and wondering when it will go mainstream and here it is - Jamie is working on Drake's new album. Uuups! 

There is an interesting interview with Jamie at Blackdown, here is his set for Benji B and the one from Boiler Room + I'm waiting for his EP to drop at Numbers and my new dream is to shoot them both one day.

The boy in the film above is called Sean, he is 4,5 years old and was living with his parents (and not only) in Haight-Ashbury -district of San Francisco that  was a hippie mecca in the late 60's and early 70s.  This video was made in 1970 so just in the middle this period and is a 15-minute conversation between little Sean and film's director Ralph Arlyck. While seeing images  from the past (beautiful e defo of high documentary value) they are talking about drugs, police, traveling, future... Crazy! Life was so different back there. But maybe not only back there... This film is followed by another documentary by Arlyck, realsed in 2004 telling a story of grown up Sean, 30 years old then, which is mixed with autobiographical episodes.  It's  documentary about time running, about difference between generations, about growing up, about different time periods, everything in the blitz. I don't remember a thing that would struck me so much as these two films. It was like discovering unknown worlds for me.
